Course Information

Introduction

This training on Chinese Cook is a competency based short term training. It is conducted to produce employable graduates in the field of Chinese Cook profession/ occupation equipped with knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the same field. The main emphasis given in this training is on the skills for employment. It is believed that once the trainees acquire the competencies, they will have ample opportunity for wage/ self employment through which they will contribute in the national streamline of poverty reduction.

 Aim

The main aim of this program is to produce employable graduates in Chinese Cook who can provide services hotel and restaurants in the country.

Objectives

 After completion of this training program the trainees will be able to:

  1. Develop the concept of cooking
  2. Maintain hygiene
  3. Prepare various Chinese food items:
  • Prepare sauces (eg chilly, garlic, Manchurian, etc.)
  • Prepare rice( eg. Fri rice item’s,  etc.)
  • Prepare noodles/Chowmein ( eg. Chopsuey, noodles item’s etc.)
  • Prepare soups (eg. Wanton, sweet corn, hot and sour, etc.)
  • Prepare dumplings/Momo (eg. Vegetable, chicken, kothey, etc.)
  • Prepare meat, fish and prawn (eg. Hot and sour chicken, hot garlic fish, prown chilly, etc.)
  • Prepare Vegetable (eg. Oyster veg, pakchoy, etc.)
  • Prepare desserts and cold food(eg. Asian salad, cabbage salad,  apple pulling, orange jelly, etc)

 Duration:

3 months (i.e. 3×130 hours equal to 390 hours

 Target Group:

All interested individuals in the field of  Chinese Cook with educational prerequisite of minimum of class five pass

Medium of Instruction:

Nepali or English or both

Pattern of Attendance:

Trainees should have 90% attendance during the training period to get the certificate.
